C. Correct Equation

This took the longest to solve out of the matchstick puzzles. Firstly, I'm not the best in the field of mathematics. Secondly, I thought that the V was supposed to be representative of 5.

Thirdly, I was tempted to use the inequality sign, but knew that that couldn't be the correct answer. So after being thoroughly annoyed with the matches for a long while I finally attempted some mathematical equations.

After a while I got the jest of it.
